Good afternoon everyone. I know that you're used to seeing a lot of sports chatter here on Fridays (and you will), but today would be classified as more of a sports recap and preview day, if you will... In case you slept through the fall (and last weekend), you know that the football season is now over... :( Accordingly, this is going to be the first time in over five months that I have not posted football predictions here on a Friday - again, :( ...
Now it's time for basketball season. If you're new to the blog, at this point in my life I really don't begin watching basketball until football is over. I honestly haven't sat down and watched a full basketball game all season. Oh, and just to be clear, it's college basketball season for me right now, and then after the national championship game I'll start worrying about the NBA... Watching a few minutes of 'Sportscenter' a little while ago, I did learn that the top spot in the nation has been a revolving door this season, and a new team is expected to the top the polls next week after Illinois scored a last-second (literally, there was one second left on the clock when the ball was inbounded) basket last night to defeat Indiana. By next Friday I should be caught up enough on the college hoops season to say something intelligent (we'll see) about it... ;)
I failed to mention this in my earlier posts this week, but on Monday (yes, the DAY AFTER the Super Bowl) I did pick up my yearly fantasy baseball magazine at Walmart... For those of you who were following my blog heading into the baseball season last year, YES, I AM a glutton for punishment... For those of you who were not reading my words of wisdom last spring, you're going to be in for MANY CHUCKLES when I recap my fantasy baseball draft strategy and predictions for the 2012 Major League Baseball season... :( If you're in need of a good laugh today and you just can't wait, go back into the archives and read '2012 Major League Baseball Regular Season' (3/23/12) and 'My 2012 Fantasy Baseball Draft/Strategy & Results' (3/26/12). Just a little proof that I'm not always right and that sometimes I do make mistakes (and sometimes I'm redundant too)... ;) And the magazine that I like to purchase for the baseball season is the Athlon Sports preview issue, in case you're looking for a recommendation... :)
Short and sweet today my friends, but I hope that you have a great weekend and I'll see you again on Monday!
